Pop Up Hampers number among the most used of all Laundry Hampers on account of their singular convenience. After all, who hasn’t wished for an extra pair of arms when handling loads of laundry? But with pop up hampers, all that needs to be done is to step on the lever that pops the hamper lid open, allowing easy offloading of everything in just one action. With ordinary hampers, it will probably take longer to dump it all.

Laundry hampers are found in a great wide range of shapes and sizes, but most hampers tend to look fairly alike, perhaps owing to their similar operation. After all, there can be but so many ways to devise the pop-up mechanism and design around it, and hampers are very simple objects after all. And so there’s no great demand for a lot of ingenuity or variety. In fact, these hampers seem to exhibit very poor variation, with just a handful of basic shapes and sizes available. And the situation is unlikely to improve without people taking their style of laundering much more seriously!

Which is an admittedly funny (even crazy) proposal, but hey, why not; think about it: everything else has been made into an objet d’art, so why not ye olde humble hamper, too? Yes, just picture it, designer laundry hampers! Luxury pop-up hampers! Premium upscale high laundering - haute blanchisserie!

No, really, this could be the final frontier in fashionable furniture design, what with golden toilets and their precious gems and fine glass. Why not something to match in the form of rich and decadent clothes hamper? After all, where will the wealthy stow dirty laundry? Oh, that’s right: foreign banks.

In any case, the laundry hamper is long overdue for a makeover! Or, to adopt the terminology of modern technology, an upgrade is in order for the old-fashioned hamper. Given all the talking toilets with on-board computer chips and built-in electronic sensors, why not something similar for hampers?

Granted, this is not Japan, where wacky gadgets and gizmos are a big part of the culture. And the rich don’t care about any would-be designer hampers because they don’t actually have to do any laundry. But it’s a great way for some ambitious young designer just out of art school to make his or her name. After all, who’d have ever thought that repeating Campbell Soup cans on a canvas could be considered art?

Nylon Laundry Bags and Cotton Laundry Bags need not be relegated only to the transport of clothing anymore. No indeed, not in this 21st Century of phones that play video and refrigerators that can surf the internet. With these and other such so-called convergence devices, everyone and everything is multitasking these days, and ye olde nylon or cotton laundry bag should be no exception!

They are typically used for moving your laundry from your home to the laundromat - or downstairs to the basement if you live in a house. They’re available in different colors and styles, such as those offering drawstrings and those which do not. Nylon laundry bags are inexpensive but fairly strong, especially good for carrying anything and everything. Cotton laundry bags, in contrast, seem to be used exclusively for laundry. Cotton is a very soft material, and though not as vulnerable as clothing-grade fabric, that are found in these bags, are still likely to be too susceptible to rips and tears where heavy-duty applications are concerned - like the aforementioned transport of nearly anything and everything. But then again, it all comes down to the way things have been engineered - nylon can be soft and vulnerable, too, as with silk-like nylon stockings, while cotton can be woven extra thick and tough, as in the old days before nylon fabric.

Whatever the case, it is clear that these bags can be employed for much more than just taking articles of clothing around. The bags can and do serve various roles. For instance, the industrial-strength grades can make great substitutes for potato sacks - for potato sack races at your local county fair or church charity social! And most cotton laundry bags can also be useful for various arts and crafts projects; it just depends on your own ingenuity. With the right alterations here and there, they can even be transformed into costumes for Purim or Halloween! After all, what could be scarier than a giant bag of dirty laundry? And, while we’re on the subject of holidays, these bags can make great substitutes for Santa’s sack!

Even though these ideas may seem fanciful, they really can work - if you have the right materials to work with. And again, it just boils down to your imagination. Naturally, you could just leave the bags alone for the one obvious thing! But why shouldn’t they multitask like everything else in the 21st Century?

No one has ever said that being a stay at home mom is easy.

Wait a minute. Yes they have. Clearly they’re delusional. Or not stay at home moms.

Being a stay at home mom is a lot of work, and it’s often frustrating. There’s always more work to be done and it’s easy to feel unappreciated. You can feel isolated and depressed at times. How do you cope?

There are a lot of ways for stay at home moms to make sure that their needs are met even as they take care of their families. You don’t have to pretend that your life is perfect. When you need help dealing with the inevitable frustrations, say something. Get some time for yourself. Find a way to make things better for you and your family.

Talk to Someone

Venting to a good friend can be a huge help when you’re frustrated. While it can be hard to get time with your friends when you’re a stay at home mom there are other ways to find someone to talk to.

Online forums, email, Twitter and other such sites can be great when you just need someone to talk to and don’t necessarily need an immediate response. Just be sure that any information you put out there is something you don’t mind being public. The internet is not as private as some people treat it.

If you need someone in person, there’s always waiting for your husband to get home, calling a family member or talking to a fellow stay at home mom. Don’t let the frustrations build, but pick the right person to vent to and the right time.

Join or Make a Mom Group

Getting together regularly with other moms can be wonderful for dealing with life’s little frustrations. All the things that build up during the week can be shared. Odds are good that at least one other mom will have faced a similar situation.

Get Out without the Kids

Getting out of the house without the kids can make for a really wonderful breather. Even running errands alone can be a huge help, although I don’t recommend you let this be the only time you head out alone. Get out for some fun times too!

Make sure you get out sometimes with your husband too. Even if you’re the one at home, you both have stresses that build up. It’s also just good for you as a couple to have alone time that is something more than watching TV together on the couch. Your life together isn’t just about the kids.

Make Time for Your Interests

Have any hobbies? Want to start a home business?

Don’t let motherhood stop you. It’s good for kids to understand that they are not the center of the universe. You are a complex human being, and being a mother is just one part of who you are. Don’t let it get in the way of everything else you are or someday want to be.

No matter what you do, you’ll still have frustrations in life. What matters is that you deal with them and don’t limit yourself.

Stephanie Foster writes at http://www.homewiththekids.com/lifestyle.php about being a stay at home mom. She has the answers to many frequently asked questions about working at home at her site.

When it’s time for the holidays or a family reunion do you cringe at the thought, but go anyway? Your mom will find fault with your hair, your job or the way you are bringing up your kids. Your dad might pick a fight with you or boast about how much money your brother makes while you are barely getting by. You know that you will have a terrible time and perhaps eat too much or drink to dull the pain.

When I ask clients to tell me who in their life has had the most negative effect on them that is still a problem, the majority replies either mom or dad. I have lost count of the number of people I have met that were beaten, sexually abused, abandoned, vilified, threatened and harmed in other ways. Yet, these same people are now adults well over the age of consent and still going back for more. Why?

Are you one of these people? As you were growing up you may have experienced some awful incidents when your parents continually acted unloving or downright terrifying and there was no one to protect you. Afterward you tried to rationalize their behavior. You made decisions about yourself and how to act so it wouldn’t happen again. Perhaps you decided that it was all your fault so you had better be good from now on. If a parent was dangerous you might have decided that you had to keep him happy so he wouldn’t get angry again and hurt you. You learned to put up with drunken or outrageous behavior and see it as normal.

Because there is a place called the limbic system in our brain where the past and the present exist simultaneously, adults who are around the perpetrators of their misery often turn into frightened three year-olds at family functions. The grown up self watching Mom get drunk and mean turns into the three year-old afraid of getting hit so he just grins and stands for her insults feeling unloved and unlovable. He goes home feeling depressed and angry but is unable to turn down future invitations to get together even though he dreads them.

After nine very unhappy years of marriage to a man who was unreliable, critical, angry and addicted, I finally got a divorce and went on to find a longlasting loving relationship. As our children grew older they began to realize how wounded they had been by his failure to keep his promises, his unloving attitude and his rages.

When my daughter reached adulthood she was still trying to come to terms with the unhappiness of her childhood. She thought that she was supposed to have a relationship with both her parents because we were her parents. The only problem was that every time she had dealings with her dad he let her down in some way, criticized her or became angry.

One day, as she was sharing the latest unpleasantness, I realized that society has created divorce to allow two adults who are incompatible to separate and go their own ways without guilt, but children of divorce don’t have that right. I told my daughter about my observation and suggested that she get a divorce from her dad. That is exactly what she did. She not only cut off all communication and asked people to not give him her phone number or address; she even changed her last name!

You are never too old to grow up and stop being at the mercy of cruel and dysfunctional parents. You really don’t need parents at your age, especially if you are independent and have your own family. Use EFT (meridian tapping) now to get a divorce and be free to find the love and acceptance you deserve elsewhere.

Here are some ideas to tap about.
Even though I feel guilty at the thought of divorcing my parents, I love and accept myself.

Even though I am supposed to love these unlovable people, and trying to love them is driving me crazy, I deserve to be free.

Even though it is very painful and uncomfortable being with them, I am supposed to love them and care for and about them and will hate myself if I don’t, I am tapping about that now.

Even thought when I was ____ years old I made a decision that I had to make them happy no matter the cost to my physical or mental health, I love and accept myself.

Even though when I was _____ years old, I decided that ______ and I am not allowed to change my mind, I am tapping about that now.

Even though they will feel hurt if I divorce them, I need to remember how much they hurt me and are unaware of all the damage they inflicted, I am loving myself now.

When it comes to the plumbing in your home, knowing how to perform easy repairs can result in considerable savings. Fixing leaky faucets and unclogging a drain are simple tasks you can do yourself, however, if you have a big plumbing problem, you will need the services of a professional plumber. Before you call a plumber, there are a number of things you can do to determine if the problem is something you can fix yourself.

1. If you think you have a cracked or broken pipe, you should follow both the cold and water pipes in the home. Begin in the basement and trace the pipes while looking and feeling for dripping water. You will be able to see the exposed pipes. You can actually turn the taps on to help you better locate the leak. Follow the pipes from the water heater and water tank directly to the pipes under the sink and bath. When you find the leak, mark the location, and determine the extent of the damage. You will likely have to call a plumber to replace or fix a damaged water pipe. As well, note if there is a sewer smell as this may be an indication of a backed up sewer which definitely needs the services of a professional plumber.

2. Clogged drains and toilets are a common problem that can be an indication of something more serious. The first thing you should do is check to see if you can clear the clog yourself. There are a number quality drain cleaners on the market. You can try using a reputable brand drain cleaner or try a homemade drain cleaner. This includes mixing 1/2 cup vinegar and a 1/2 cup baking soda and pouring it down the drain. Let it sit for a few hours and then run hot water through it. If you have your own plumber’s snake, you can try sliding it into the drain pipe and remove the clog. For a toilet, there are a number of products that can be used to break up a blockage. As well, you can try plunging the toilet. If you cannot break up a blockage, you should call a plumber. Remember, the pipes can be broken if you are too rough on the system when trying to clear the blockage.

3. If the water in the toilet is constantly running, get a pair of pliers and adjust the chain where the ball drops (located in the toilet tank) to see if that will stop the water from running. As well, fidget with the flush arm to see if that is the problem. It may be loose and require a bit of tightening. If the faucets in any of your sinks are dripping or running, try tightening them. You may have to replace a washer if the taps are loose. If that does not work, you may have a broken faucet that may need the expertise of a plumber. If the water is constantly dripping from a shower head, you may have to replace the water head. As well, shower head leaks can occur in the connections. Unscrew the shower arm, clean it, and screw the head back on and manually tighten it.

It is important to remember that plumbing and septic systems are very complicated and require the expertise of a professional plumber. There are small and easy things you can do to correct a plumbing problem, but for the serious problems, a professional plumber has the qualifications and experience to make the proper repair.

Licensed drains Toronto contractor offers experienced plumber services, including leak detection, sewer line cleaning, pipe repairs, and more.

Cookware - it’s all the same isn’t it? All you need is a saucepan, frying pan or whatever basic equipment you have, place over somewhere hot; add food, wait until its done and leave alone. It is that kind of thinking that has at times made my cooking feared and loathed by all who try it. So, to take myself on a useful bit of education, the time has come to venture out into the big bad world of cookery to see how the best modern equipment can improve my frankly shocking skills.

First of all the materials from which they are made. You need a base that will be effective at conducting heat and a surface that will remain non stick despite prolonged use. You also have to consider the handles. I always thought this would be a case of stating the obvious, but you’d be surprised to see how much cookware I’ve had in my time that uses handles made of super conductive material. Even after only a short period of time on the hob it is blazing hot to the touch and that’s no fun at all.

The best modern products now come with specially insulated material that not only look good, but will also stay comfortable to the touch.

Additions such as this explains the disparity in price between the basic run of the mill products and the real high flyers. While you might baulk at spending so much on a simple piece of cooking equipment the investment will be worth it in the long run.

However, all the good cookware in the world won’t necessarily make much different unless you develop your own skills into the bargain and this is where a lot of people - yours truly included - often let themselves down. Instead of adhering to instructions and cooking on a low heat until ready we take the approach of more is, well, more. We heat it up as much as possible, stand back and admire the blackened approach.

No cookware can ever hope to withstand such abuse which is why some people have come to call me the grim reaper of sauce pans. However, it is never too late to change your ways. Developing cookery skills opens up an entire new world of cuisine and options. All it takes is a little care, a bit of research and the will to change your ways.

The memory foam mattress is a type of mattress which boasts comfort and body yielding traits. As opposed to a normal spring type mattress, the foam memory mattress is softer and will cradle one’s body in a way as soon as they lay down on the mattress. When reviewing the different memory mattress types, you should not only look at the mattress itself but the cover which goes over the foam mattress as many companies offer certain covers for extra comfort and heat retention purposes. There are two main types of mattress covers for memory foam products, the wool cover and innofa cover. The following will highlight what each cover is and the pros and cons to choosing each one.

The Wool Memory Foam Mattress Cover

The wool memory mattress cover is often made of Australian wool and provides the mattress owner with a more comfortable sleeping arrangement. When you use a wool cover over your foam mattress you will be choosing a mattress which is perfect 12 months out of the year. It will keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. A wool cover for a memory foam mattress will also keep you comfortable as it is a good option for those who can never seem to get quite comfortable in bed as the wool will provide a cozy atmosphere for the sleeper. In addition, those who sleep with a wool cover are less likely to come in contact with bacteria and dust mites. As for the cons, there is one in particular which may not be an issue for everyone. Some individuals are allergic to wool and for those individuals the other cover alternative, the innofa cover, would be best.

The Innofa Foam Memory Mattress Cover

The other type of foam mattress cover is the innofa cover. The innofa cover has natural components, such as the wool memory mattress cover, as the innofa cover is often partially constructed of natural bamboo. Like the wool mattress cover, the innofa cover can be washed and is extremely comfortable to sleep on over your memory foam mattress. As a con, the innofa foam cover may be less able to keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer when compared with the wool foam mattress cover.

In the end, both the wool cover and the innofa cover have wonderful qualities which make either one a great choice for adding extra comfort to your memory mattress.

Memory foam mattresses are a popular variety of mattress. Many individuals purchase this type of foam mattress for its comfortable characteristics and yielding attributes. When purchasing a memory foam mattress one may not know that this type of mattress has heat retention qualities as well. Some may sacrifice by obtaining the foam memory mattress for comfort yet deal with the heat retention qualities. The following will highlight the heat retention aspect of memory foam mattresses and show how this feature affects the overall feel of the mattress while sleeping.

What Is Heat Retention?

Heat retention relates to how much warmth an object keeps in. During the warmer summer months, those who sleep on a foam memory mattress may realize that they feel hotter in temperature than usual. This is because the memory foam mattress may be retaining the heat and making the sleeper warm throughout the night. The foam mattress may also feel softer as the room temperature is warmer during the summer months.

How Does Cold Weather Affect the Memory Foam Mattress?

Cold weather will also affect how the memory mattress feels to the one who sleeps or relaxes on it. In the winter months when the indoor room temperature may be cooler, the memory foam mattress may feel colder and firmer in consistency. Like with the memory foam in the summer months, this deviation in the mattress consistency can cause discomfort and a poor sleeping environment.

The Solution to the Memory Mattress Heat Retention Dilemma

If you are considering purchasing a memory mattress and the heat retention aspects of the foam mattress are a concern to you, there is an easy solution. Consider purchasing an air mattress which has a self adjusting technology. Air mattresses are just as comfortable if not more so than memory mattresses and do not retain heat. No matter what month of the year it may be, your air mattress is going to feel the same each and every day.

The heat retention issue with a foam memory mattress is one which should not be taken lightly as it can make the difference between a sound sleep and a restless night.

Adjustable beds are in great demand now days. These beds are driven by self adjusting technology which spreads the pressure evenly over the mattress surface, so that you get the most comfortable sleep. What makes these beds so comfortable? The secret lies in the way these beds are designed to work. Let’s find out more how adjustable mattress beds work.

An adjustable bed has an air suspension system. When we sleep on these beds, the suspension system calculates the pressure that we exert on the mattress and it adjusts the bed accordingly. So no matter in which direction or posture you sleep, the mattress self adjusts itself according to your position, weight and body type by spreading the pressure evenly. The result? Comfortable and healthy sleep - that recharges, refreshes your body and mind.

There are many kinds of adjustable beds available in the market. Since we spend one third of our lives sleeping, it is a good idea to test a mattress before purchasing it. If you are willing to get yourself an adjustable bed, you should definitely check if it suits you or not. The best way to do this is to lay on it for 15-20 minutes and try changing sides as well.

If you feel comfortable on it, that’s the one for you!
Adjustable air mattresses have another great advantage. These adjustable beds are good for people with bad backs. Even doctors recommend self adjusting beds for individuals with back problems. These types of beds can reduce stiff joints and back aches. So if you have frequent back aches, you old mattress or bed could be the culprit. Old mattresses may exert more pressure on certain body parts like the spinal cord and less pressure on neck or lower back, which can cause back problems over a period of time. So if you want a healthy and comfortable sleep, adjustable mattress beds could be a good option.

Congratulations on your new baby! You have just brought your baby home and are pretty excited about everything. Perhaps you don’t even mind the fact that getting a good night’s sleep is getting tougher by the day.

Getting into a routine

This is not easy, but rest assured, it will happen. By the end of the first month, new parents discover that their baby lets them slip into a comfortable (but exhausting) routine.

If this is your first baby, you probably feel totally amateurish. Relax, let your baby’s cues guide you and very soon you will be a seasoned pro!

Rock-a-bye baby

Your baby will probably sleep 12-18 hours a day between
regular feedings. If you are lucky, your baby will sleep for longer stretches at night. Do not let your one-month old baby sleep through the night. At this age, infants need to feed at least every 2-3 hours for healthy development. Regular feeds are also important in stimulating your milk supply, which will get established during the first month.

Baby is growing

By the end of one month, your baby should be able to focus on faces, lift his head briefly when on stomach, and probably startle in response to a loud noise. All babies reach developmental milestones at a genetically set time, which differs with every baby. Do not expect your baby to go by the book. Your baby’s weight might decrease in the first few days as he loses fluids postdelivery. Most newborns stop losing weight by the fifth day and surpass their birthweights in about fifteen days.

Cause for concern?

More than fifty percent of babies develop newborn jaundice because their immature livers cannot handle the extra bilirubin (the yellow pigment) they produce. Mild to moderate physiological jaundice requires no treatment. Others might require medical attention in the form of bililight therapy.

Babies born by normal deliveries usually have misshapen
heads. Your baby’s head will gradually attain a regular shape; you can prevent flattening by giving her a little ‘tummy time’ everyday.

Colic and continuous crying are things that most parents dread. Hours of dealing with a crying baby coupled with lack of sleep and exhaustion can drive anyone crazy. It is vital to seek help and give both your baby and yourself a break during spells of colic. Time tested methods such as rocking, “the colic carry”, swaddling and soothing music can work wonders on a baby who seems to be screaming his lungs out.

Ouch! It hurts

Your baby will receive a Hepatitis B shot in the first month of life. This shot is not known to cause fever. Your baby will probably cry for a few minutes and that will be all.

Allergic to milk?

Milk allergy is the most common form of food allergy in infants. Frequent throwing up, loose watery stools and wheezing might be signs of a milk allergy. If your baby is intolerant to milk, try another formula before switching to soy substitutes.

Explosive bowel movements and frequent passing of gas are common in infants and will disappear once the kinks in his bowel get straightened out.

We are different

All new parents have numerous questions lurking in their minds, especially first time parents. No book or article can explain everything about your baby, who like all babies is different from the rest. Write down the specific questions you have about your baby to ask your healthcare provider.

Enjoy the time you spend with your baby and make the best out of your first month together. The first month is the perfect time to forge a bond with baby, a bond for life.
